Post new owner,failed mot
Hi all,im a new owner of a four two (well 3 weeks now) i have had the car MOT'd today and it failed on the filler cap rubber (one on order) and rear brake lights inoperative,i assume its the brake switch so i have ordered one,im going to have a bash at it myself, looked at the "how to" guide and all i want to know is can i do this using a jack and axle stands or does it have to be on a ramp with the undertray removed?

thanks in advance
Mark

You should be able to do it on axle stands. Can be a bit of a squeeze though.

I did it up on axle stands with no problem.

failed brake light switch with no other symtoms/problems (gear selection)? did you change the bulbs as a matter of course before your assumption it is the brake light switch.
