Before I pull the front panels off and have a look I would like to know where is the best route to run the speaker cables into the door, and do I actually need to remove the front panels?

Personally..... I would remove the front panel assembly, it's only the grille and half a dozen screws. DON'T forget to disconnect the fog lamps and indicator repeaters as you go!!!!!!!
Then take the outer door panels off.....again it's no big deal. In the doorhinge aperature there is a plastic channel, curved black plastic, with a bit of jiggery this can acommodate another couple of small wires.

Ok, I thought that might be the case. I'm going to run components so might need to put the cross-overs in the door too, somewhere. I'll be custom fitting the tweeters in the mirror sails.
Is there a 'Best' place to put the wires back into the cabin? or should I just find a gromet when I have the front off.
